the borrowers . . .

I'm taking my girls to see The Secret World of Arrietty (Myazaki's latest movie). In anticipation of the upcoming theatre adventure I did a few watercolours.

I'm taking daughter #2 to see it tomorrow. I wish daughter #1 was here to go with, but she is off to university. We are a family of Totoro fans from way back and all that. Love, love these illustrations and of course, everything!

Came back from the movie theatre an hour ago:) It was good! I have been a huge Studio Ghibli fan ever since I saw Totoro 12 years ago. It's the most charming type of story telling. I wish more people in North America were aware of Myazaki:)
Thanks for the sweet comments!:)

Was it good? We are hoping to go this week, too. BTW, I just bought a paper lantern with your design at Pearl River in NYC this weekend. Hanging from the ceiling, I recognized that it must be your design and was thrilled when my suspicion was confirmed!

It was great, Darla! The girls loved it even more than I did. A bit cheesy in the end... but I survived:)

And... Oh soo good to know that my BlueQ lanterns are in the Pearl River. I visit it whenever I'm in NY:)!
Thanks for all the love!:)
